American Eye Surgery Center offers a safe and comfortable environment for patients seeking state-of-the-art eye care. Our Athens location houses our Ambulatory Surgery Center accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This means that the surgery center has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by the association.

There are many new advances in technology related to Intraocular Lens Implants (IOL). Conventional intraocular lenses have been routinely implanted in the human eye after cataract surgery for more than 30 years. It provides excellent vision in conjunction with prescription glasses. Without the aid of glasses, conventional IOLs rarely allow patients to see simultaneously far and near objects clearly. Advanced technology IOLs were developed to allow patients to see both far and near targets without glasses. There are several different options to choose from, and after a full evaluation by our staff and surgeons, one of these may be an option for you.
