Dr. Jing Dong
Ophthalmologist
Dr. Jing Dong is a board-certified ophthalmologist and currently serves as the owner and president of the Georgia Center for Sight and the American Eye Surgery Center in Athens, GA. He founded the Georgia Center for Sight in 2001 and has deep expertise in handling a wide variety of eye care needs. He specializes in no-needle, no-stitch cataract surgery in addition to providing services for glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, oculoplastic and strabismus surgery. He received his undergraduate degree at Nankai University in China and his Doctorate of Medicine at Tianjin Medical College. Directly following his doctorate, he served as an instructor in the Tianjin Medical College Department of Pharmacology, until he relocated to the University of Louisville to complete his time as a visiting investigator at the hormone receptor lab, a Doctorate of Pharmacology and Toxicology, a postdoctoral fellowship, an internship in internal medicine and a residency in ophthalmology. Today, he contributes his experience and research to the many professional organizations he is involved in, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Association of Research in Visual Science and Ophthalmology, and the Georgia Academy of Ophthalmology.
