Ophthalmologist and Athens native joins Georgia Center for Sight team
Georgia Center for Sight gains new Ophthalmologist, Dr. Centrael Evans, an Athens, Georgia native. Dr. Evans is a comprehensive ophthalmologist trained in laser and surgical management of a variety of eye diseases. He serves all four Georgia Center for Sight locations in northeast Georgia.
Dr. Evans completed his doctorate of medicine from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. While attending Emory University, Dr. Evans was named a Global Health Institute Field Scholar for his work with pediatric cataracts in Zambia, Africa. Dr. Evans also served as the Chief Resident during his residency at SUNY-Buffalo.
He was recently nominated by faculty and his peers into the prestigious Richard Sarkin/Amerits Faculty Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Evans was selected into this chapter due to this altruistic nature and compassion.
“We are so excited to have Dr. Evans here,” said a Georgia Center for Sight staff member. “He is an incredible asset to the team with his extensive ophthalmology expertise, fresh perspective and kindness.”
When not at work, Dr. Evans enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, vintage cars and cheering for the Dawgs!
